A Little Heart
The events of the week have me at a loss for words. So many innocent lives lost. Part of a small town in Texas is destroyed. The city of Boston is in lockdown. All I can do is stare at the news with a knot in my stomach and pray that the worst is over.
I wish I could mend the hearts of the families who lost loved ones this week instead of just stitching one in my journal. I wish I could do more to help.
I found this Boston Love blanket project on Twitter this afternoon. They are collecting 8"x8" squares to make a blanket for the family of one of the Boston bombing victims. I definitely want to participate! You can find all of the details here.
Also, CityCraft, a fabric shop in Dallas, is accepting fabric donations and blocks to make quilts for the communities of West and Boston. You can find the details here.
I think it is time to take a break from the news for a little while.
I hope you have a good weekend! Let's hope a better week is around the corner.
