A Walk Through the Pumpkin Patch
Maybe it's just me, but I think certain events require a certain type of weather in order for it to be thoroughly enjoyable. You know, sunshine for the beach, snow for the mountains, and a crisp autumn wind for a walk through the pumpkin patch. That is exactly the kind of weather we had in Dallas this weekend so I wanted to take full advantage of the perfect alignment of all things fall and pick out a few pumpkins. I don't want to ruin the magic, but this pumpkin patch isn't exactly on a farm or anything like that. It is actually situated right across from a grocery store parking lot. What it lacks in location it makes up for in beautiful pumpkins, mums, and memories. I remember picking out my very first pumpkin from this stand and, on Saturdays during high school, painting spooky jack-o-lanterns and spiders on little faces before they went running through the hay bale maze.
It was extremely cold on Saturday but that didn't keep me from snapping tons of pictures at every turn. Actually, I felt a little silly, because this little place isn't exactly "touristy". It's just so pretty, how could I not take any pictures? I really fell in love with the magical Fairytale pumpkins. They remind me of Cinderella's carriage. Before we left and hurried into the warmth of the car, we picked up a bunch of mums, some mini white pumpkins, and a jar of delicious pumpkin butter.
The sights and smells of fall are finally here and I couldn't be happier! If it is fall in your part of the world, have you visited a pumpkin patch yet this season? Do you have any other fun traditions this time of year too?
