Fiber Inspiration - Artist Maria Aparicio Puentes
I discovered Maria Aparicio Puentes' incredibly inspirational work over the weekend and fell in love. She uses thread to add a new, geometric, and textural element to photographs taken by other people. I am fascinated by the intricacy of her lines and shapes. The visual power of the bright colors against the black and white photos is so eye catching.
Her creations have inspired me to try embroidery on paper. I would love to create a piece of art or unique card with a needle and thread. I mean, it worked when I tried to crochet on paper, right? I guess you have to be extra careful when dealing with delicate paper.
